The majority of my work these days consists of In-Home Family Sessions shot on film (and I LOVE them!), but I realize that the name may be unclear for some people.
What exactly does an In-Home Family Session involve? I'm so glad you asked...
If you hire me for In-Home Family Photos, here what you can expect from our time together:
Long before I show-up with my cameras, we will have a conversation (or two or three) about what your family enjoys doing together.
What does this season of life look like for you? What is your favorite activity to do together? What makes you laugh? What do you want to remember about this chapter?
From there, we will craft a loose schedule for the session; "we'll start inside reading on the couch, then we'll have a snack on there front porch, then we'll jump on the trampoline, etc. etc." My prep process helps me understand your family and better capture this season for you. It also gets us on the same page about how we will use our time together. Trust me, the calls, questions and planning beforehand create better images in the end!
We will likely spend time inside and outside your home, it just depends on what we decide to do together. I've found that moving around keeps everyone (grownups included) engaged and interested. Also snacks, there will likely be snacks. If the weather is cooperating, we will likely go outside at the end of our session; it's fun to change up the light/environment and helps to get those wiggles out. I usually save the outside activities for the end of the session in case we get wet, messy or sweaty.
So that's what you can expect from my In-Home Family Sessions; planning and preparation, then playful time together as a family!
If you're interested in working together or just want to ask me a few questions about how In-Home Family Sessions work, get in touch (via my website)!
I'd love to chat!
