Hi, I'm Barrie.

I was raised in North Carolina, before attending the University of Virginia. I fell in love with photography while using a point-and-shoot camera while on a backpacking trip through Europe. I didn't know what I was doing, but I knew I was hooked. I started taking film photography classes and learned how to develop + print my own images. I worked for several professional photographers in Charlottesville, VA before following my dreams to New York City where I worked for a clothing company and spent every Saturday exploring a different neighborhood.

Then I followed my heart, and a very kind-hearted firefighter, back to North Carolina. We eventually tied the knot + now have two hilarious kids who provide me with endless laughs and reasons to pull out my camera.

Currently, I am very into : a whiskey sour before dinner, learning something new (wood-working), not-hustling, reading chapter books to my kids, Muji 0.38 black pens, the smell of coffee (not the taste), and the sound of my husband mowing the grass.
